Saturnian Moments

How my teachers wished
that my mind
would potato like
grow eyes in darkness.
In the corners were they sat me.
wild perceptions budding
with surreal dictionaries
to them unnamed poison.

the futures they ordain
with spades of logic--
how lost like the buttons on my shirt
could never match.

the night that they painted
 in ink- like mockery
well curved lines
with their sentences and diagrams
of trickery
and still the unpronounceable hours roamed
the unpreventable segments of indifference
clock’s face unreadble.

The phonics of my smile
for i held the merest word
in the hidden room i had worn
with in my soul,
and held its safe and hidden
in the shadows of this world--
beyond the need to speak--
its power the elegance of its letters
textbooks cannot speak
beyond the circling wolves of grammar.
how education eats its children
in its Saturnian moments.

I would respect and love who ever has made out of you this wonder that you are.
