Poem Jar

Harm not winds of night

and how they rustle the shingles

of the roof.

Images flow also in my soul

from currents

of skies unmark boundaries…

How strange to find

words stacked within

regressing in intersection--

words within words.

Sounds within sounds.

lines intertwined inside,

little poem i shall

keep you in the small

mason jar of my soul.

i shall never release

you into the coldness of the world.

the indifference of closets

the philosophies of waste paper baskets….

i cannot share you

for i need you

to tremble in the unnoticed

corners of my throat.

As i cover the surface of my body

with your escaping whispers

For others cannot read

the leaves of your unfolding

or the disturbance of your birth…

This is amazing, really amazing, what feeling, what wisdom, what emotion and talent, all in this wonderful crucible.
