Share The Same Grave
Sometimes words
hide in the eyes of my silence.
i am simple
and cannot afford to waste
the only thing
that is within me.
What pale linguistic ghost
swim in the veins of my soul.

For i am thin
in importance.
Loosened from intentions
As dictionaries close
its transparent pages.

Once the words have left me
i have only silence to console me
for names are like goldfish
neither can survive outside their bowl.
Similes that share the same grave.

very intriguing piece...lovely poetics...I love your phrasing and your thought process here, you have developed and presented it wonderfully. i especially liked lines like: "Sometimes words
hide in the eyes of my silence." "What pale linguistic ghost
swim in the veins of my soul." and "for names are like goldfish
neither can survive outside their bowl. "
nicely done
