For All Those Soldiers
I wake up in the morning And dread the horrid day. I realized I wouldn't see you For many years you'll pay. You went off to serve our country With little hope in you, To fight for all those people Who died with no reason too. To pay for all the pain and suffering They put on me and you, To keep our country thriving And keep it through and through. I pray for all you died that day And their family's too, The grieving that went on that day That everyone went through. I pray for all those troops That fight this very day, To keep our very freedom That we have today. I hope we overcome this For hope will come on day And pull together throughly To be united in one way. For we're the United States And free is what we'll stay. The home of our fathers And the home of the BRAVE!
Author's Notes:
Okay. I had to write this poem for our school so that's why the brave is capitalized(my school's the Flathead Braves). I won the contest and now my poem sits on a wall in the office. It's really cool. I also wrote it for all those soldiers and especially my cousin, Wesley, and my Uncle Henry. ~Elizabett
