Cloak Of Gentleness
Hills wind swept
Trees bent
And the moon colliding
with yesterday.
What forlorn trees
is written
In the spaces of your branches?
Eloquence of nothingness
The fine penmanship
Of hope’s ending emptiness

What language will
Plug in the gaps
In soulscapes
Beyond memory?

Freeing the sparrows from the labor
Of their trials.
Tomorrow may be hidden
Somewhere even
fallen leaves cannot travel
Connect and caress
with a window of curing
That sparkles in a night
Of swirling shadows.

Even meaning cannot be
Pieced back together
Beyond the injury of remembering
But life’s kisses
the mantle of contouring skin
That which is essential
waits in a cloak
Of gentleness
As planets rain
Their strange condolences
Over the rustle of winds.….
