Silent Stalemate
i like to hide
in the quiet corners of my mind
for i have loose eyes
for they only can abide
in simpleness
and playfulness of endurance.
For my soul is plain
and unattractive in its
pulsative fullness

i am often told
to open windows of my soul
i can share many things
but never share myself
for my lips are tied in
red ivy of conundrums--
for i am confused
to wither that which
within me grows
is a but a lost child on a branching road
or a lurking monster in a bottomless cave.

So i play chess
with myself in silence
but at the end
with mysterious creatures
of my minds reflection
marble perfection
meets in the protection
of a silent stalemate.

Andrew you write about your confusion and your humbleness but you also write that you cannot share your soul. You are wrong there, this poem is a sharing that is eloquently given. Excellent.

Sad, but incredible write.
This poem leaves a lot for the reader to ponder.

This sounds like a lonely place to be Andrew.

This poem makes me feel sad. You seem so contained...bound by your own imaginings.
