Inward Winter
In the cloak of my skin
the world seems cold...
i shiver not for weather
but form the warmth i lack...
How the gray skies turn
around the sparkle of life
as i feel a unicorn turn in my mind
the winds may pierce me
as prophesy of winter unfolds
and the word ices in its promise..
i just smile
the merest turning of lips
for i have not been frozen
in the season.
For my heart spurts
and warms the bluing skin
for the snow has not emptied me
for it melts
against the silk of my spirit.
As joy blushes from ordinary cheeks
for i shall not let my hope
ice on my eyebrows
as winter waits and blows upon
the doorsteps of the world....

Dear Andrew-
The cold winds of change can sometimes rearrange
the pages and stages we're meant to go through-
I thought this was great!
I really liked the opening lines but the whole piece was excellent-
Best Wishes to You~
