October's Blessing
The darkness walks on pig like feet
across the voidness of the fields.
Where can one hide from nothingness
as the stars are swallowed in the blankness.
Shadows i shall not fear
for fear does not consume me--
fear does not itch my soul
into double headed bugs of doubt--
its teeth does not graze me
night just goes through me
like a dream of dark clouds
for i am formless in my joy
tasteless in its shadow fangs
for in all oppression
there is the quiet rustling of trust.
that fulfills me as i pass.
Nourishes me in meekness
What can the night do to me
as my hope unfolds cares
around me into simple prayers
flutter like galaxies around
the mysteries of living.
Elegant diligence of mindfulness
how you clothe me
so i am not naked
in my thoughtlessness ...

Holy word how you flow
for i shall not be harmed
unless it be in shallowness
of my heart.. May i be made
to be too small to contain pride
may humbleness remain just right
inside alone in the corners of my soul.
unknowing as my eyebrows worship in curves

My fate is my belief
sparrows hiding in the chest of integrity
waiting for their moment
of flight beyond cold cages..
Though my flesh may be bought
down into this impermanent world
soiled in my conflicting desires
still my love shall walk
across the gleaming promise
of star lit serenity polished
as the living words you have given
one who has made me--
wipe away my tears
for wisdom is always calm
as the storms comb my hair
in watchful solitude
luminous words grow
in darkness of pig like feet.....

I really like this piece, it is full, one after the other of soul images, strong in spirit but recognising the frailty of the material body and mind, but fearless for the dark void that the soul embraces...A wonderful description...
