Mustard Field

He sowed for me a mustard field
and I devoured the divine yield...

I picked and washed and boiled it down,
then baked some cornbread, golden brown.

What joy for me my love revealed...
to sow for me a mustard field

For my significant other.

Author's Notes:

This is for my significant other. It's the small things in life that make me happy. When he brings me flowers, I don't care if they are long-stemmed roses or turnip greens gone to seed.

Iambic Tetrameter.

Nothing wrong with turnip greens gone to seed. I love yellow. Mama likes mustard, too, but I prefer collards. Very good work. ML

My Sister~
Cornbread, Mustard greens, and a glass of iced tea~ All the makings of a devine dinner~ When a man brings his lady a gift from nature and the fields, be it just a small bouquet, it says 'I love you'....Delightful, warm write, Mary....I love it when you post, please continue.....(smile)...
Love, just me that old ethereal bud...
