Song Of The Seal

Dream of me
in a strange dreams
among the fish & the seals.
i have that dream again
where i am at that strange zoo
i have never seen
or imagined somehow stuck together
by straw dim memories
built of polished white stone
that sing in the rain like
a necklace around the neck of a nude.
i am jolly, joyously confused
like a puzzle of distance land
when you swallowed
the last unworkable piece...
so the truth is like birds
on a frozen pond
trying topull their feet free
in the bowl of my brain...
Dreaming is folding the soul
an origami of faith
for the frogs & the cranes...

Dream of me
in a strange dreams
among the fish & the seals.
i dream that i fly over the walls and the cages
until loop like a strange winged creature
across the silent many limbed trees
to dive into
that white stained cement pool
and slowly change
in the fast falling moon
into a seal
all my virtues turn into flippers
of which i have two
all my vices
that i have kept under my bed
and taught them tricks
like a circus of ants --
are suddenly free to wrangle out of my face
and sprout into jolly wiggling whiskers
of which i have a hundred and two.

Dream of me
in a strange dreams
among the fish & the seals.
i swim in the liquid of night
watching the moon from the very bottom
of the pool
the ancient empty mountains & the craters
that hold emptiness
in the airless cornucopias of space
until my lungs tell me
its time to surface
to hollow
at the dream-time swallow rolling above me
the song of hunger of mystery
calls from the double flute of my throat.

Dream of me
in a strange dreams
among the fish & the eams
among the fish & the seals.

Then the lady
of the pool
comes in her game preserve khaki shorts
and her checked button down shirt
to feed me
from her silver pail
double tailed hymns
into my moon singing mouth.
And when she is done
she sits and smiles
as i sing
in undeciphral tongues.

Dream of me
in a strange dreams
among the fish & the seals.

She pats my head
feeding me
the golden ones
at the bottom
of the bucket
we stare ket
we stare ats my head
feeding me
the golden ones at the bottom of the bucket
we stare
up at the moon that comes closer
down the winding stairs of the sky.
Like a piñata
that exposes the sweet honeycomb of mystery
and erupts silver grasshoppers.
The moon
slowly spins down in reverse
like a pool ball ready to sink,
into the arms of the mountains--
and she takes me to her room to protect me,
and we watch the moon fall down--
rolling through the fields & the woods,
and listen on the radio
how the moon has fallen
and was lost
in the depths of the oceans..

Image overload, but hypnotic all the same...not sure about some of the phrasing and if the the typos are part of it but I guess you were after making the reader uncertain throughout the piece?

Very readable and interesting....
