Modern Romance

I wanted to make
Flowers in all colours
Swirl out of your fax machine

I wanted to email you
The spicy smell of the seaside
As autumn sets in

I wanted to leave
The taste of home-made cherry pie
On your answering machine

I wanted to have
The soft breeze of the Caribbean
Delivered to your letter-box

When these plans failed
I doubted whether this was
The golden age of communication

Until your on-screen message
Reached through the firewall
For my old-fashioned heart

Heike - Ahh, the magic of the well written word, It can actually evoke the aromas, sounds and sights you described
in your mind's eye and heart.

Into favs for me. This poem encompasses all the yearnings of the lover's heart the total longing to give the person of your desire the world on a plate
The last line is just SO powerful and cleverly descriptive with it's contrasts between old fashioned romance and modern technology! I LOVE it Heiki, but then I love all your inspired work!
