Hunger
...My simple heart is hungry
how it rumbles
in its emptiness.
Keeps me up at night
with its dog-like crying and pawing..
What shall i fed it with
my aortal hound.
The cupboards of joy
hold nothing except
the promises of the dust of tomarrow.
My pantries of bliss are empty
of dry goods of past
for what i have hid for rainy days
i have shared--
i have fed others--
hungry mysterious children wandering
in the upside down worlds beyond the doors
as the narrow dogs pace on the porch...

...All i have is the crumbs
of words nobody wants to eat
not even the blind sparrows
that live in the nest of my mind
no matter how i try to trick them
the mouse of intuition just
leaves with his whiskers twitching
to find another wall to dwell within...

...The darkness offers me
a hint of a picnic
but my belt protests
darkness food is too bitter
and spicy for me,
i crave sweets light wrapped in cellophane
so all i can do is tighten my belt
and eat a couple of poems
as the devious inks
drips from the corners
of my lips
and my heart still rumbles
but its all right i say
as i tighten my foolish belt
for the poems were mine......

Well, I swallow hungrily every crumb of your words. And their taste is excellent!

"...All i have is the crumbs

not even the blind sparrows

"and eat a couple of poems
as the devious inks
drips from the corners
of my lips
and my heart still rumbles"...how could this be?? In my opinion, two would be a banquet. The aortal hound is greedy indeed.

Another poem of excellence!
