Prayer For a Little Flower

It is hard to understand
my little rose
why there are worms:
--waiting in segmented cruelty--
waiting in their scheming den--
waiting in dark chambers
of the house of death.
To eat you and your lustrous graceful blooms
your petals sing such songs
that they echo through the impermanent rings
of mighty planets and still the notes flows
until the slightest grains of your song
reaches whirling galaxies that turn
in the unknown drains of the universe..

As the stars shimmer
on the black curtains of night
and the winds only speak
the philosophy of swaying.

The only condolence
i can give my little rose
is that all of this
must one day too must pass
and my body too
shall turn someday
into the forgetfulness of the grave,
but let your spirit fly within your petals songs
until that hour when the creator allows
for another world blooms upon the old.
