Forgotten Path
Oh hidden path of gentleness
How you nestle and do run
In curving arcs against
The waiting breathing loyalty of the hills
& locus trees with their limbs
of leafy understanding
How i adore to walk your mysterious ways.
Those that others may have long forgotten
& have left in disrepair.

How my uncomplicated toes
love the wisdom of your smooth stones.
That bless me as my steps do pass
Past the grace of ivies like green hymns
Entwine their serene wordless paths
in green scrolls with flowing script
with your sublime serendipity…

i shall follow while
i may in this swaying world
of darkness scheming
But your gentleness does restore me
As my labor & my yoke disturb me.
Until that day that i shall
seemingly fall asleep
and find your true aspect waiting
running far from this world.---
& you shall be known
in curious blindness of my heart--
in the infinite tributaries of the clouds..

Until that day when other
more wise feet
Shall follow mine
in the invisible shades of passing time….
