Your Shadow In Its Labors Gleams

In the words of your eyes
i struggle all through time's dark lies,
in the troubled depths does imprisoned seem--
your shadow in its labor gleams

Impinging in my dreams at night
kept within a glowing key with second sight.
The flaming character of your lips intervene--
your shadow in its labors gleams.

Deep in chambers kept from morning
you do walk with me but then i morn
when i awake and find you gone--
your shadow in its labors gleams.

far away from me, far from notes of song.
Beyond my visions and i do long
the touch of your knowledge by any means--
your shadow in its labors gleams.

So i shall follow you beyond my reach
the impermanence of my flesh does breach
in that celestial country that you supream--
your shadow in its labors gleams.
