~Welcome to The Journey~
I first arrived at the door step of Creative-Poems back in 2003.
I'd started writing poetry in 1994, 1 year after my best friend had committed suicide.
~William Thomas Moore~ 08/25/59 ~ 11/18/93~
In 2000, we got our first internet accessible computer and I opened a web site on Angelfire called Jims Poetic Journey. Although my knowledge of the internet was not the greatest, I was very proud of that home for my poetry. The problem was that hardly anyone except for me actually visited it. So in 2001 I began searching for Poetry site and became a member of Poetry-Poem. In the beginning I loved this site for the ability to not only read the writing of others, but to have others read mine. I'd met some great people and some whose writing really helped open up my own mind. But unfortunately just as what happens with anything good, there is always someone who has to ruin things for others. The site had no ability to control its users and the entire site became completely out of control. Peoples sites would get hacked and passwords were stolen in order to send messages to others in your name. No one knew if a response was actually from the person sending it. And some of these were very derogatory comments towards the writer or what they wrote. Why- Who knows what drives some people. But after it happened to me more than a couple times, I decided it was time to find another site. This is when I stumbled upon Creative-Poems. After joining and being here for a few weeks, I'd went over to the other site and invited a few people I felt I could trust. I even invited a few that I was a little unsure of, but because of what they wrote about, trusted my heart. Although I joined a few other sites over time,
I always considered this to be my home.
Then when Dennis, who was the sites original owner, announced that due to certain circumstances had decided to close the site down. Many of us panicked and tried to do whatever we could to help save the home
and place we'd come to love.
So I sent Dennis a $50.00 donation to help the site financially.
And when he wrote me back afterwards, I'd discovered that someone had falsified an account and was sending him comments that said they were from me.
Dennis did some checking and discovered how they achieved this, but we could not track who they were. It truly broke my heart wondering how many other people got something in the same way and thought it was from me. But I refused to let it move or abandon the home I loved this time.
Then Richard took the site over and breathed new life into it.
And although my writing has expanded and grown,
this has and will always be my home.
These Wonderful People who Share this site were a huge part of what
made me publish my first book back in 2004.
Today I have 10 published books along with Poetry and Music Videos that is becoming part of a Live show I'm doing with my son on stage this year.
So not only do I owe this site a lot, I will never forget how much it has done to allow me to follow my dream and watch it become a reality now. And as Richard has now allowed us the ability to share this place many of us have a piece of our hearts at, with the friends and families at our Facebook Accounts,
he has once again breathed new life into this site.
So first to Richard, Thank You My Friend, for all you do and for all you have done to sustain this site by continuously bringing it into the future.
Second To All of You who have been a part in helping me grow as a writer over the years, You are and will always be,
A part of who I am Today and will be Tomorrow.
And Finally, To Those of You who will plant your roots here, May YOU find the Warmth, Caring and Sharing that has made this place what it Means to Me.

~Best Wishes to You All~
