|About Me ||
My wife (Ann) and I own and run a small care home for adults with learning disabilities . Prior to that I was a farmer, I took up writing poetry quite late in life (2007) having never written a single word before. I was inspired by hearing a poem by Robert Service "The Cremation of Sam Mgee" read by a man in an Irish pub. I write mostly humorous poems but by no means exclusively, I particularly like Ogden Nash short poems.
I was born in Redditch Worcestershire England (Twenty miles from Shakespeares birth place) and lived on / worked on the family farm for many years. I gradually became an agricultural engineer, making equipment and repairing tractors and cars for other farmers. My wife and I bought a care home in Torquay Devon in 1996. We have two fantastic children (now adults) Fay and William.
Apart from poetry I enjoy gardening, photography, geneology and sea fishing.
I hope you enjoy my poems.
