About Me

Loss and Gain

When I compare

What I have lost with what I have gained

What I have missed with what I have attained

Little room do I find for pride

I am aware

How many days have been idly spent?

How like an arrow the good intent

Has fallen short or been turned aside

But who shall dare

To measure loss and gain ing this wise

Defeat may be victory in disguise

The lowest ebb in the turn of the tide

*~*Henry Wadsworth Longfellow*~*

Hello my Fabby Poet-ettes!

Tis I, not that it really matters since you probably don't even know to whom I'm speaking of (me), so let me tell you a little bit about myself.

I'm nineteen-years-old...actually, perhaps I won't tell you so much about myself since my life is long, complicated, and for the most part really boring.

I'll just tell you about some (I repeat SOME because there are quite a few) of my favorite "not on Creative-Poems" poets and authors. First, the few that I know personally in my life (or did)): My Mother; S. Greer(possibly one of the best young poets I know today); JayR (for his beautiful and inspiring words); and MJ Allen (Her work is truly awesome). Next, for the few that I don't personally know (since most of them have long since departed from this Earth or are in other countries where I'll never go): Edgar Allen Poe (quote The Raven "Nevermore"); Henry Wadsworth Longfellow; Emily Dickinson; T.S. EliotE.E. Cummings; Robert Frost; Robert Louis Stevenson; Walt Whitman; Jane Austen; C.S. LewisCharles Dickens; (Told you most of them were dead) Sue Grafton; J.K. Rowling; Louise Rennison; Meg Cabot; Philip Pullman; Katie Maxwell; Lemony Snicket; and Brian Froud (His artwork too!). Wow! that's a lot! Read some of their work sometime.

Now, for my fellow Creative-Poems Poets and Authors (Not that I know very many...but here they are): Barbara Demasson; Jillian Alexis; Chrysanthemum; FrozenTears; Lady Dragonwyck; The Bag Lady; .. ..AtMyDarkest.. ..; SoulfulPoeticKing; Michelle; joe mcninney; Sensual Sorceress; onloveswings; Beautifulsoul; Shatterglass; and hiddendragon (sorry everyone! I only know your screen names, except Joe,…I told you I didn’t know anyone). All of you rock the world with your words!

Anyhoodles, my poems are written from my soul and experiences I’ve had in my life (to a point), so read away, enjoy, and please comment.

Love and Faith,

 Heather René

Oh Horse Feathers! I almost forgot! P.S. If my strange way of communicating (i.e. using words or phrases you’ve never heard of before) blame it on my fetish with the British! For it’s the weird although somehow totally fab way they communicate.

Toodle Pip!
