AS APRIL WAINS
AS APRIL WAINS

Is she waiting somewhere for me, as I now wait for her?...
In the early leaves of April, yes, but how can I be sure...
When will eyes I long for, look into mine to cure?...
The longest of my spring times, does April thus endure?...

Our youth was spent in quiet, misty mornings, days of light...
The pale blue eyes she carried, as the full moon shining night...
A lifetime mine and hers were lost, she was gone, and I to fight...
Fight against the only years I hold with all my might...

Those days were few to us, but the love is still alive...
And knowing April's love is mine, how long must I survive?...
As April wains, another season gone, and so my life...
I wait to meet another sun warmed day , and just to lie...

Lie together, in the tall grass there that grows...
Just to live, and love forever, no tears, no sorrow shows...
I wait for only her, I feel that this, my April knows...
My life and time, must run their course, and so my story goes...

Past another dead spring, how many must I know...
The heat of summer burns memories, deep into my soul...
The falling leaves of autumn, predict the seasons that will show...
Another dark December, alock in aching snow...

Another winter adds to ice, now packed around my heart...
The sadness of another year so close, so far apart...
Remembering the warmth of days, the sun, exquisite art...
I wait for spring, and all my love for April, and it's start...

Is she still waiting there for me, or am I wrong...
Does she long for what we were, as steel the time was strong...
What amount of time, do I wait, oh, God how long?...
To be again, in April's arms and smile, where I belong.........

Oh you devil you.  You had me going.  My love is May because she brings the flowers and planting time for my garden.  Then along comes June and with her, the sprouts start developing.  August is such a pain in the butt.  He brings the weeds I need to pull and the watering cans.
Nice love poem for April with her thirty days, but remember when she leaves again this year, she'll come back next spring.  And then .... the cycle starts over again.
Nice one Dean.      .................   Gene
