The Six Foot Sword

THIS IS THE SWORD!          (...that I been chokiní on!)

HIS IS THE WORD!               (...that Iíve denied!)

THIS IS THE SWORD!          (...that the unfaithful)

THIS IS THE SWORD AND HIS IS THE WORD!

(Used to bleed my body dry!)

THIS IS THE SWORD!          (...that I extracted!)

HIS IS THE WORD!               (...that healed my wounds!)

THIS IS THE SWORD!          (...the son of David)

THIS IS THE SWORD AND HIS IS THE WORD!

(Raises up to You!)

My music is my sword in the war for the mind!

Thereís a crusade going on in intellectual times!

The Media War is being lost this hour

By disheartened Christians who can only cower

In fear of the darkening status quo.

The kingdom of the Lord never darkens, though!

This may not be the same world it used to be

But in God, we have the same opportunity!

Spare them all my Lord!  These are all good men!

Theyíve only been confused and taught to pretend

That ďDo unto othersÖĒ should actually read

ďI donít need your help!  Donít do nothiní for me!Ē

But the Lord commands us to go out and teach

By example, and not just constantly preach

About all the love that we feel inside!

Hey Daddy, why you blush?  You got somethiní to hide?

Thereís some evil things amiss in this world!

I wish I could kiss every boy and girl

On the forehead with the lips of the Lord!

But those lips arenít mine, so Iíll USE MY SWORD!

To pave the way for the meek at heart.

And for those who just donít know where to start

Take a hint from the man with the Six Foot Sword!

And come ready and willing to serve the Lord!

I canít guarantee this battle wonít be rough!

But itís easier than spiritual chains and cuffs!

Like the way Satan removed the pledge from schools.

And they thought it was their own idea, the fools!

This country was built on the Lord above.

But itís no longer the Lord that weíre thinking of!

And we wonder why the moneyís value disappears!

Is it "In God we trust," or "Sorry, God's not here?"

THIS IS THE SWORD!                      (The Six Foot Sword!)

THIS IS THE SWORD!                      (The Six Foot Sword!)

THIS IS THE SWORD!                      (The Six Foot Sword!)

THIS IS THE SWORD AND HIS IS THE WORD!

Author's Notes:
I FINALLY got a title Track for my 2006 album Six Foot Sword! (WHEW! With Christmas just around the corner, that was pretty close!)

I'm kind of nervous about adding audio to this one, since it would be my first audio file... That being said, I'd really appreciate comments on both the poem and the audio as well... What do you guys think?  With the right music playing in the background, would this sell?

There is so much strength in standing upon the word of God. A strong foundation of truth and values is a must these days. This is very cool, and you can definitely feel your faith and the power of Christ that impowers your words.
