Black Dog
Hey black dog!
Nice to meet you, my friend.
While I pet your shiny coat,
You smile and lick my ear.
.
Wow, how lucky are you,
Touched by your master every day.
A bone or something from the table,
Outside but never alone anyway.
Like you, I never roam far.
Protecting master your specialty.
Something we both share, you see!
I have a few things to offer ya know.
So, hey there black dog.
Think about the places you could go!
Come trade places with me.
All I do is itch anyway....

I've got one of those bamboo back scratchers that is shaped sort of like a little hand...beats having to wait for someone to come along and scratch that itch!
LOL cute write!

Rich - I want to render my congratulations and my heartfelt thanks for keeping this site alive, there are not a lot of sites that I have felt at home with as much as Creative-Poems.
Like you, I agree that there are many possibilities for this site that could enhance the writer's experience.

Your poem here is illuminating. I see you like animals,or at least dogs. I have often tried to project those same feelings
of feigned jealousy on various pets that we have had. Nice work.
