The Things You Say

Oh, the things you say!
The things you write.
Things you whisper in the night.
Capture my imagination with delight.

You always make me smile,
Always make me laugh.
No matter what demon I'm feeling.
Even if I don't always do my half.

Always play just the right part,
With acts of faith and kindness
You always amaze my heart.
The faults of others a blindness.

You're unique, a sweet delight
Your sweet voice I've heard before
Probably in dreams I've had.
How you laugh, giggle like a young girl.

Or your sultry voice when making love.
Transformed to a fireball of red,
Making this man's dreams come true.
Heating up my essence all night in bed.

Opinionated, sophisticated lady,
Mincing few words you speak your mind.
We define positions here and there
You don't try to change me, disagreements fine.

When you're mad or hurt,
Or have something to allege
Someone even stronger emerges,
With a rather definite sharp edge.

Sometimes you're very mysterious
Many places unknown to me you go.
Deep and dark you don't stay long,
Like my sisters, your place is in the light.

The intensity and expanse of things you say
You talk directly to my heart and soul.
It reminds me of motherspeak, at times,
Reaching me without control.

The way you engage and show me
Just how much you care
Yet so little do you ask.
You really eclipse everyone I swear.

Yes, sweet love, sweet friend....
Oh yes, the things you say,
The many wonderful things you are,
Make me pray you'll forever stay.

This is simply beautiful, Rich, and any lady would be crazy not to pop the top on some bubbly to celebrate this dedication. You are in grave danger on being labeled a 'romantic soul' with Don Quixote leanings!! LOL Nice work indeed! Jude

What a beautiful write for the one you love. No Jody, everything is not about you, you, you. LOL.
Sorry Rich, I had to put her in her place.

Perhaps it is the way she walks,
as she leaves an empty room;
perhaps it's the way she brings with her,
the light into every gray room.
Perhaps it is the way she speaks, or
tilts her head just so,
But there is no perhaps in this poetry,
a fool could see you love her so.

Just what came to mind after I read this...gorgeous. barbie
