Just So You Know
See me as I was.
Sad, forlorn, and blue.
Not your choice, my dear,
That I pined so over you.

Meeting where your kindred tread,
An angel I know you are.
No guarantees were ever said,
Yet I still worship you from afar.

We didn't ask this to occur,
Granted a moment for romance.
Like a new baby child we were,
I'm glad we got the chance.

Did you really love me?
Your eyes gave you away.
Convinced of it I'll always be,
And pray you'll look again someday.

I hope you can fulfill your dream.
I know you have the power.
To love you less is to blaspheme,
So please forgive the flowers!

If I've miss-behaved, sanction me not!
For the blunderings of my heart.
Though my brain knew the finality,
My heart had no will or wish to depart.

You'll never see this humble drivel,
Just so you know I speak anyway, I must!
I write not to change your path, Angel.
To the hands of fate, our child, I now entrust.

This story, seen from far, far away,
Is just my search to find the shore.
You're off to follow your heart my love,
And I can do no more!
