And For What Do I Thirst
I need to talk

She said it was serious

She wants a divorce?

I think Iím delirious

The shock wave went out

It tingled like rain

As the tears flooded my snout

Suddenly there was pain

It hurt in my heart

And etched in my head

It just could not be true

But its what she said

What am I feeling?

Its like a hole in my head

This could not be happening

Our marriage was dead?

It came out of the blue

With never a fuss

We were always true

This could not happen to us

Now I sit all alone

To young to forget

Not one but a million

Single regrets

I have no plate

No towels, and not a date

The last time I looked

There was no paint on the gate

I went to the doctor

And paid for a session

I found it was all

Her manic depression

Iím beginning to heal

Real slow at first

What have I missed

And for what do I thirst

Author's Notes:
This is just a roller-coaster of feelings after being suddenly divorced- I am sure it will be continued after I finish living it

A fine piece Paul. I see it was posted over a year ago, i hope things are going better. It is one of the hardest things one can go through.

Wow! Your feelings are very apparent in this one. Very well described. I love it. Nicely penned.

"Not one but a million

Paul - this line stopped me dead in my tracks. It's good when a poet tells a poet - "I wish I had thought of that line before you did!" And I do. Greatness.
