WHAT'S NEW AT CREATIVE-POEMS.COM?
First, Today it is our pleasure to introduce unique tools for corraborative writes here at Creative-Poems.com. These new tools, available exclusively for Premium members, allow creation of Writing Groups which facilitate the management and publication of drafts by groups of our members. Each group has their own picture profile and produces the writes in similar fashion to that we are used to, except that they are immediately viewable in each member's profile as well as the group profile. Several types of groups are available to suit your creative needs. More information about Writing Groups is available in this Forum post! We hope these new capabilities will stimulate additional collaboration, commenting, and dialog between our members.
Second, Jolen Whitworth, aka, the Sensual Sorceress, has announced her intention to retire as Assistant Administrator, effective April 30. It is her wish to continue as a member and focus increased energy on her health, family, and writing career.
In her capacity as Assistant Administrator, Jolen has managed the Featured Poetry Contest, supervised our Contest Raters and Moderators, dealt directly with customer service issues, and served as a resource, tester, and adviser to the site owner. A member since 2004, Jolen has long been one of he most active poetry commentators and widely read authors at Creative-Poems, somehow managing to find time to publish two books, including "Every Girl Has Her Limits", co-write many works with Bad Penny Productions, move to England, and raise her husband, James.
Rich and the staff of Creative-Poems.com want to recognize and thank Jolen for her significant contributions over the last three years. She is well known to us for her creativity, her beliefs, as a champion for member rights, and for her efforts to move the membership towards improved writing. She will be missed.
It is our hope that many of you will also take the time to thank this invaluable member of Creative-Poems.com for all time and effort spent in her volunteer efforts to make this site a better home, and to wish her well in all her future endeavors.
Third, you can now visit with your favorite poets using our new chat room feature. This service is available for the convenience of all site members, however, you'll need to be logged into our site to access the utility. Be aware that chat is unmoderated, but the software will automatically remove members for repeated use of abusive language. Check the Forum for additional details.
NEWS FROM OUR CREATIVE MEMBERS!
First, Congratulations to Jolen, who’s poem 'Scavenger' has just won first place prize of £100 and publication in Cooldog. Her short story, “The Stranger” has also been short listed for the 2009 Tacu award. Jolen is proud to announce that her book, Every Girl Has Her Limits, (UKA Press)is now available for order on Amazon and will be in other stores soon. The book is getting rave reviews and is being put forward for the Griffin poetry prize as well as the T. S. Eliot award in poetry. You can read the latest reviews here.
